to wake up the next morning and realize that you didn't actually have
fun? You were too stressed out to enjoy it. Luckily, this problem is
easy to avoid. A hallmark of a great bridal shower is one where the
hostess herself is obviously having fun. You've worked hard on this,
so make sure to have a little fun too! Follow these 9 tips and the

Select a bridal
shower menu that can be prepared entirely in advance. Some foods
actually taste better when they're made ahead of time and they allow
you the freedom to mingle with your guests and the guest of honor at
the bridal shower.
Don't get caught
vacuuming on the day of the bridal shower as the first guest arrives!
Shop for food, prep it, and clean your home a day in advance.
Divide the bridal
shower into three sections: food preparation, socializing, and
cleaning up. If you're trying to wash dishes when you should be
socializing, you'll miss all the good gossip.
Invite friends you
want to spend time with into the inner sanctum of your kitchen for a
few minutes of gab time while you get things ready.
Enjoy a glass or
two of wine along with your guests - just not too much!
Seat yourself next
to your favorite guest.
Switch seats a few
times during the bridal shower so you have a chance to mingle and
talk to everyone.
Hire someone to
clean up after the bridal shower. If you have a regular cleaning
person, see if he or she can schedule you in for the day after the
bridal shower. (Be sure to leave an extra tip for the effort).
Squirrel away a
few dainties or a piece of dessert so you can celebrate the
successful completion of the bridal shower after the guests have gone home.
