How to Plan a
Desserts Bridal Shower
A desserts
bridal shower can be truly one of the loveliest, most elegant
styles for a bridal shower.
What's also really terrific
about a desserts bridal shower is that this style of bridal shower
is one of the simpliest to plan, because the food is really quite straightforward
- just desserts! A desserts bridal shower can also be quite economical,
especially if you prepare the desserts yourself. A desserts bridal
shower is a delectable, if decadent occassion for guests to enjoy.
With a desserts bridal shower, you get a great balance of ease
and affordability, combined with a great sense of class, style
and elegance.
Expert Tips For
Planning a Desserts Bridal Shower
* Take a look at
your time-frame and plan the desserts accordingly. You'll obviously
need more desserts for a four-hour party than for a two-hour bridal shower.
* For a fifty
person, two-hour bridal shower, your best bet is to have three or
four big food items for a dessert shower (like pies or cakes) and six
different bite-size desserts, such as mini tarts, pieces of fudge, or
cookies (about 35 pieces of each). People tend to eat only one piece
of the larger desserts, say, one slice of pie, but several (4 or 5)
of the little ones.
* You can set up
your food serving table at the bridal shower in a fun, dramatic way
by putting different sized boxes or blocks under your tablecloth and
putting the dessert trays on different levels, with a big fancy cake
as the centerpiece.
* Serve a variety
of drinks as part of the bridal shower menu, including coffee, tea, punch,
wine, and possibly juice. (Hint: Sweeter-style champagnes are great
with fruit desserts, and red wine goes extremely well with chocolate.)
* Always have a
fresh fruit platter available so those who don't eat desserts or
sweets won't feel deprived of food.
* A sundae party
is also a fun and unique way to go for a bridal shower menu. Serve a
couple of different ice creams, sauces, (chocolate, caramel, etc.),
whipped cream, candies, and cookies in different bowls. (Keep the ice
cream cold in a container filled with ice inside of another bowl.)
Guests will have a great time getting creative with their food!
* Vary your menu
offerings, but not so much that guests get tastebud overload.
* If bridal shower
guests are going to be serving themselves and carrying drinks, keep
food bite-sized.
* Give your
desserts bridal shower good "flow" by placing food and
goodies in various spots around the room. This way, your guests won't
feel overwhelmed looking at 20 desserts on one table.
* If you end up
with desserts left over, have goody bags on hand so you can send some
home with bridal shower guests. And of course, remember to make up a
goody bag of desserts for the groom! (and father of the bride!).
Enjoy planning
your desserts bridal shower!
